At the June 20, 2011 Meeting, the Board of the Springbank Park For All Seasons (SPFAS) passed a motion effective as of this date to replace the SPFAS Annual Membership Fee structure ($70 per individual and $120 per family) with a new SPFAS Annual Facility Access Fee ($60 per individual).

Please note as follows:

  • The payment and collection of the SPFAS Annual Facility Access Fee will be incorporated into the registration processes each SPFAS User Group will utilize to enroll participants in their respective activities that commence after July 1, 2011.  This Fee covers the period from July 1st of one year to June 30th of the following year (same as the SPFAS fiscal year).
  • The new SPFAS Facility Access Fee will be individually charged and collected by each User Group for each registered participant.  If an individual registers with more than one User Group, that individual will be charged the Facility Access Fee by each User Group
  • The new SPFAS Annual Facility Access Fee structure is simpler and less confusing than the former SPFAS Annual Membership Fee.  It will be easier to manage and is more efficient to control administratively.  User Groups have generally expressed their interest in and support for implementing a new SPFAS Facility Access Fee in place of the former SPFAS Membership Fee.  In addition, the Facility Access Fee provides a more proportionate and equitable distribution of SPFAS operating costs to User Group participants who regularly access SPFAS facilities.
  • The User Groups will provide SPFAS with participant name, address and contact information that is obtained from their registration processes.  SPFAS will respect and retain the confidentiality of this information by using it for very limited purposes, as well as by not distributing it to other parties.  SPFAS will only utilize this information to:
  1. Work with User Groups to confirm and reconcile participant and registration numbers to the annual collection of the Facility Access Fee, and,
  2. Record User Groups registrants paying the Annual Facility Access Fee as SPFAS members (which is  particularly valuable for applying for grants and other funding, as well as for complying with SPFAS bylaws), and
  3.  Retain an email data base (to be used infrequently by SPFAS) to send messages pertaining to SPFAS activities and events (including Fall Fair activity updates, emergency and/or weather related facility closures and information pertaining to new special events coming to SPFAS).
  • By registering a participant with a User Group, you will be providing your consent to that User Group to share your information with SPFAS solely for the purposes outlined above.
  • Those families who hold current SPFAS Lifetime Memberships are exempt from paying the SPFAS Annual Facility Access Fee. Unless you hold a valid SPFAS Lifetime Membership, the Facility Access Fee is a mandatory requirement to be paid for each User Group activity for which you are registered.
  • All proceeds that User Groups collect from charging the Annual Facility Access Fee will be forwarded directly to SPFAS in order to support and fund the Park's operations.  These proceeds are combined with other SPFAS revenues to offset expenditures included in the Park's Annual Operating Budget.

Are You Interested in Purchasing a SPFAS Lifetime Membership?

As is outlined above, those families who hold current SPFAS Lifetime Memberships are exempt from paying the SPFAS Annual Facility Access Fee.  If you have an interest in acquiring a Lifetime Membership in exchange for a $1,500 payment, the opportunity to do so ends as of as of 12:00 midnight on June 30, 2011.  To purchase a Lifetime Membership before then, please forward your request via email to springbankpark@springbank.ab.ca (you can also use this email address to obtain additional information regarding SPFAS Lifetime Memberships).
