Description:

Springbank Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) is a volunteer group of moms, dads, brothers & sisters and is located in the community of Springbank, immediately west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We have close to 900 boys and girls from age 4 to over 20 registered in our program. The Association is a member of Calgary Minor Hockey and our community teams all participate in Calgary Minor Hockey schedules.

SMHA is a registered user group within the Springbank Park For All Seasons Agricultural Society who is responsible for maintaining and managing the recreational complex located on the corner of Springbank Road and Range Road 31.  In order for a child to participate in SMHA, they or their family must first be a member of the Society for insurance coverage and other benefits that accrue to the Association through this relationship.

Our teams use the Joe Phillips and Red Dutton arenas, located within the Park for All Seasons. The hockey season usually starts in late August with registration of new players taking place, followed by a week or two of evaluation sessions on the ice where the players are assessed as to their skill and playing level so that they are assigned to a team consisting of players with comparable ability.
